Some months ago rumours started swirling about a new day trip that was so good it was making waves in the tourist market. A day trip that was so good, customers were making the effort to come back to the tour desk to share what a wonderful time they had. Their praise covered everything from how much fun they had to the unexpected things they did and saw, the fantastic food and the wonderful crew. In fact it’s not new, it’s a Captain Cook cruise that’s been around for 20 years however it’s recently received a face lift and it’s certainly making a splash with visitors.
The Tivua Island cruise has been around ever since the company purchased the island two decades ago, however recent changes to the day trip have now made it a must-do Fiji activity. Island hopping has always been a popular way to discover the beauty of Fiji, but this recently revamped day trip has been receiving rave reviews since its makeover. One of the biggest and best changes is the substantial new jetty that has been built on Tivua Island, making it much easier for visitors to go ashore and reboard the vessel.
Speaking of which, the vessel has also changed. Introducing iconic tall ships that Captain Cook cruises has faithfully rehabilitated, the new vessels add another dimension to the 90 minute trip to the island. A unique way to sail, the tall ships showcase the stunning scenery on the way to and from Tivua Island. The happy and relaxed environment of Tivua is the ideal way to spend a day, and the all-inclusive excursion offers unlimited food, beer, wine and soft drink.
There is so much to enjoy while on the island. Surrounded by more than 500 acres of protected coral reef, sea life is abundant. Snorkelling allows you to discover a vast array of colourful local fish and a glass bottom boat allows you to get up close with the marine life while still remaining dry. You can also enjoy complimentary kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and lots of fun organised activities for the whole family or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the incredibly clear water as you sip your favourite drink.
The island itself is totally dedicated to its day tripppers and the staff provide the most wonderful time on shore. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave.
