Rumours have been swirling like sand along the shore about who will be coming to our screens for Australia’s first season of the Bachelor in Paradise and with filming kicking off in Fiji, more has been revealed about just who will be looking for love in the South Pacific.

Taken from the US reality TV format and spurred on by the success of the series in Australia, Channel Ten revealed it would be filming the Bachelor in Paradise spin off amid much excitement from reality TV fans all over Australia. However, the network remained tight-lipped about who would be appearing on the anticipated series.

TV show host Osher Gunsberg has arrived in Fiji for filming at Mango Resort along with the first of 10 contestants, with more set to arrive over the coming days. The Fiji resort seems like the perfect place for romance in the Pacific and no doubt the cast of former contestants are sure to get tongues wagging.

So far the confirmed contestants are a ‘best of’ from previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, including some of the most-loved and most controversial contestants. Laurina Fleur from season two of The Bachelor and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! might find Fiji more to her taste after missing out on romance with Blake Garvey after she famously shunned his offer of a ‘dirty street pie’.

Keira Maguire, villain of season four of The Bachelor and season three of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! will no doubt stir up trouble after famously calling her competition a ‘peasant’. However she may do well to keep her insults in check when it comes to fellow contestant and ‘Australia’s sweetheart’ Tara Pavlovic from the most recent season of The Bachelor. Although she may have failed to steal Matty J’s heart, she certainly seemed to enamour herself with the Australian public with her happy, vivacious yet down-to-earth personality. Fellow season 5 Bachelor contestant Florence Moerenhout will also star in the new Bachelor in Paradise.

Bringing the testosterone to the island is magician and fellow Australian sweetheart Apollo from the most recent season of The Bachelorette as well as Michael Turnbull, who missed out on wining Sam Frosts affections in the first season of The Bachelorette. Also from the first season, Davey Lloyd promises to bring some comedy relief with his trademark prankster nature.

Other former male contestants who will be joining the cast include Blake Colman, the contestant everybody loved to hate in Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette as well as fellow scoundrel Michael Turnbull from season one of The Bachelorette and Eden Schwencke, Mack Reid, Luke McLeod and Sam Cochrane - who all lost out to Stu Laundy in the most recent Bachelorette series.
