Accommodation
Vatulele Island Resort offers 19 accommodation bures with each providing generous personal space together with natural architecture to present a new standard of luxury in the region. Vatulele Island Resort provides guests with a choice of 3 accommodation styles, Deluxe Beach Villa, Vale Viqi and The Point.
Deluxe Beach Bure: Are spacious villas enjoying easy access to the water, each with its own stretch of white sand. Twelve doors open to an expansive terrace, and from the living room you walk up three steps to the bedroom. The luxurious villas, which are a stylish combination of Fijian and Mediterranean architecture with thatched roofs, are comprised of sitting room, bedroom, large bathroom and spacious shaded terrace. The bures are approximately 50 metres apart and are set in natural jungle, allowing for privacy. Bedding is 1 King Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults.
Vale Viqi: Is the name for the Grand Honeymoon Bure or the pink house. This is the most remote of the bures and noted for its extreme privacy and architectural detailing. Vale Viqi gives you 182 square metres of exclusive space plus private courtyard/deck. Air conditioned, sound system, two indoor showers, two outdoor showers, bidet, bathtub, cosy dining area, and plunge pool, all surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. All this plus easy beach access. This villa is serviced by its own full time staff and also comes with permanent electric cart transportation. This bure or villa is very popular with honeymooners. Bedding is 1 King Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults.
The Point: Vatulele's premium bure, with a commanding view of the lagoon and entire beach. It has two levels, with air conditioning and two swimming pools. This villa has permanent staff assigned on a full time basis. Ideally suited to high profile guests seeking privacy. Bedding is 1 King Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults.
Dining
Vatulele has become famous for its food, ranging from Californian to Thai, Japanese, Australian, Asian and Indian - in fact, any style that suits Fiji's glorious tropical climate and laid back lifestyle. Fresh ingredients are flown in daily from Australia and New Zealand. Naturally there is an emphasis on seafood.
In the welcoming warm weather, meals are taken on a terrace outside the large central pavilion overlooking the lagoon. By night, tables are set under the stars and lit by lanterns and candlelight. At full moon, the 'dining room' is usually set by the water's edge.
However, don't imagine that Vatulele will ignore that special occasion or the chance to have a romantic dinner for two. There are many options for private dinners, such as a cave in the jungle, in 'The Folly', on an exclusive island in the lagoon, or on the beach with moon and lantern light.

Activities
The crystal waters of Vatulele invite every kind of water-based activity, including sailing, paddling, snorkeling, fishing and diving. Even swimming takes on a new dimension. For those who are even more active, there is a tennis court. The guides will also take you on hikes into the jungle, where you can learn about native plant medicines, see ancient petroglyphs, visit important archaeological sites, or swim in underground caves. You can also arrange intimate picnics on a secluded beach away from the resort - or even reserve your own 'Robinson Crusoe' island for that special romantic interlude. Excursions to the local villages are regular highlights. The chief meets guests in his stately bure, and invites them to join in a traditional Kava ceremony before granting them permission to explore these simple subsistence communities.
Fishing: The ocean around Vatulele abounds with so much sought-after sport fish. Guests regularly catch Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi-Mahi, and send them fresh to our dining tables each night. The game fish boat is fully equipped and captained by a knowledgeable skipper, very familiar with the area, and well aware of the best places to get a strike.
Diving
The quality of the scuba diving sites at Vatulele has been one of the South Pacific's well-kept secrets for many years, and only recently has it been revealed as one of the premier dive destinations in the region. The island is surrounded by deep water with large 'drop-offs', offering twenty-two dive sites within fifteen minutes' travel.
Vatulele is the only luxury island resort in Fiji with a PADI ("Golden Palm" status) dive facility and resident instructors. Vatulele offers a variety of courses, 'Resort' courses, full 'Open Water' certification courses, and various specialty courses.
Weddings
For many couples, organising a wedding takes such enormous effort that the idea of 'eloping' can be very attractive, especially when the wedding can take place in the romantic setting of Vatulele.
The service is usually held on the beach at sunset. Traditionally dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a barge trip across the lagoon, and children toss flower petals in the sand as she is carried ashore to take her vows. The ceremony is accompanied by the mellow voices of a village choir raised in sublime harmony.
All the guests are invited, they participate in champagne toasts, the traditional Kava ceremony, a native feast cooked in pits in the ground, and later enjoy the villagers' genuine ceremonial dances.
Wedding package pricing available on request.
