Castaway Island Fiji features 66 thatched traditional Fijian style bures (bungalows) with a choice of beach front, ocean view or island setting. Sleeping and living quarters are separate with the emphasis being on privacy and comfort for this island resort accommodation.

Dining
Water's Edge Restaurant: Can't be missed, with its large white umbrellas and sweeping view providing the ideal setting for Castaway dining. A magnificent starlit setting at the water's edge is enhanced by the music and songs of the "Castaway Islanders" with their acoustic guitars and island style bass. Covered breeze-conditioned dining in our "Bure ni Vutu", bure beside the vutu tree, is adjacent to our water's edge terrace. The Sundowner Bar: is open for drinks, gourmet pizzas and snacks from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm, with happy hour from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. During happy hour the Sundowner Bar is a child free environment.

Activities
Watersports equipment including windsurfers, catamaran sail boats, paddle boards, spyboards, snorkels, masks and fins are all available free of charge. Table tennis and use of the tennis court is available free of charge. In the afternoons you can join in beach volleyball every or try the island bush walk.
Other activities where charges will apply include banana rides, island safaris with a picnic lunch, game fishing, night fishing, parasailing, jetskiing, scuba diving, snorkelling and waterskiing.

Diving
At Castaway Island scuba diving is an activity for the whole family. There is something for everyone no matter what level of experience you have. For those that have never tried scuba diving Castaway offers introductory courses. Even children as young as age eight can try diving under the supervision of our PADI accredited instructors in our PADI Bubblemakers program. Castaway Diving is an acclaimed PADI dive operation, having the distinction of being awarded PADI International Five Star Gold Palm status, which is the highest recognition PADI awards to its resort members.
Castaway also offers snorkelling trip for all ages, this excursion will take you out to a submerged reef where you will see the best of Fiji's corals and tropical fish life. A dive master is on the boat at all times during your snorkel and will answer any questions you have on coral and fish life.
Day Spa
Bure Lomani Day Spa: Relax and pamper yourself with a traditional Fijian massage in the serenity of Bure "Lomani" (Fijian for "pleasure") surrounded by the tropical gardens. The trained masseuse will ease away your tensions with a mixture of traditional and aromatherapy techniques. If you would prefer a massage treatment with fragrant Fijian oils on the beach or in the privacy of your room, the staff are more than happy to assist so the choice is yours.
Children
Kids Club: The Fijians' love of children is legendary and you can be assured your children will be well cared for by the Castaway family.
The Kid's Club provides a complimentary service for all children 3 years of age and over from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm, with a separate, supervised children's dinner hour from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm. The kids will enjoy a mixture of games and experience a definite Fiji flavour - loads of fun and entertainment.
Weddings
Marriage under Fijian law involves two parts. The first part is the registration of the intent to marry with the Registry office in Nadi. The office is open from 9.00am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday, and the appointment will take approximately 20 minutes. Castaway Island will try to organise an appointment for the bride and groom in the Nadi Registry Office on the first or second day of arrival in Fiji. This will allow for the completion of the Fijian Registry requirements before coming to the Island for the marriage service.
The second part is a religious ceremony to be held on Castaway Island. Usually the ceremony takes place at sunset on the jetty adjacent to the dining terrace. A minister would be available prior to the wedding to discuss the wording used in the ceremony. See Instant Quote for Wedding Costs.
Additional Information
Please note: Some islands in the Mamanuca group may experience seaweed deposits on their beaches from time to time. The seaweed volume deposited on the beaches varies and is completely dependent on the weather conditions at the time (winds, currents and tides). The resorts make every effort to have any debris cleared as soon as possible.
Children: Children stay free in existing bedding when sharing with parents. Children 0-4 years eat free and children aged 5-12 years receive discounted meals.
